Central government supports cultural relics protection work in Tibet

Oct. 26, 2017 -- During the 13th Five Year Plan period, the central government will implement a number of key cultural relics protection projects in Tibet and the special funds will be doubled on the basis of that of the 12th Five Year Plan period.

Plant archaeology laboratory will be built and the wall-painting conservation and restoration project will be carried out. The maintenance, planing, and compiling project for cultural relics protection units above the autonomous region level will be completed. The surveying and mapping work for Tibetan Buddhism Temples' collections, murals, and buildings will be conducted. In addition, cultural relics protection database will be built.
