October 10,2017--After the third time of the variety renewal, in 2016, the annual output of Tibet's highland barley reached nearly 750000 tons, nearly 6 times than that of 1960, according to the Tibet Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

"Improved variety is important technology carrier to promote the development of agriculture and animal husbandry and also important kinetic energy to increase grain yield," says Nima Tashi, dean of the Tibet Academy of Agricultural Sciences, “highland barley is the main food crop in Tibet.
