First private think tank of Tibet opens in Lhasa

Nov.7,2017-- The Institute for Development of Tibet Autonomous Region, the first private think tank in Tibet, was inaugurated on Nov. 4th in Lhasa. 
Chen Gang, president of the institute, said the institute will focus on the development of the Himalaya Rim and expects to cooperate with south Asian academic institutions to deepen mutual understanding.
We should give full play to the role of private think tanks to promote the development of the Himalaya Rim, the protection of the plateau’s ecological environment and culture integration, said Wang Ping, deputy director-general of Tibet’s Department of Commerce.
